I examine the relationship between revenge, social justice and what I call the highest degree of intelligence: the ability to understand context, assign responsibility precisely and consider the society our response will create. This narrative review and conceptual paper draws on my earlier essays, original psychological research, human-rights investigations and primary legal texts. It answers the question of when ignorance becomes a choice and how national reconciliation can coexist with accountability. The complete English paper has 14 pages, three tables and 18 references.
